Baker Class of 2017 – Preparing the Global Real Estate Leaders of Tomorrow

One of the goals of the Baker Program is to educate students who will become global leaders in the real estate industry. This global perspective has attracted the attention of real estate professionals from around the world. These men and women come to Cornell and contribute in a meaningful way to this dynamic and forward thinking graduate real estate experience. More than half of the students in the incoming class of 2017 come from outside the U.S., and each brings a unique background and perspective to the program. Below is a brief introduction to several of these outstanding first year students.

Amin Elahy
Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Amin comes to the Baker Program from Dubai, UAE, one of the most active real estate markets in the world. While there, he worked as an Asset Manager for Oasis Group Limited, a developer and owner of residential real estate. In his role, Amin managed over 200 properties with a combined value of $100 million. Amin also contributed to the ground up development of several residential towers and a master planned resort destination at The World Island. Amin earned a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the American University of Sharjah and is fluent in both English and Persian.

Adrian Martinez
Monterrey, Mexico
Before joining the Baker Program, Adrian worked as an Associate for MGT Land Capital, a real estate developer and Mexico’s largest land bank. At MGT, his responsibilities included investor relations, investment promotion, and deal structuring. He also raised millions of dollars in funding for a wide variety of development projects. Adrian held a chair in the technical committee for Club Sonoma Residencial, a luxury residential development and sports resort. Prior to joining MGT, Adrian worked as a stockbroker for Banorte, one of Mexico’s leading banks. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business from Instituto Tecnologico de Monterrey.

Tushar Bundhela
Gurgaon, India
Tushar brings with him years of experience working with some of the most successful real estate developers in India. After earning an MBA from Cardiff University in the United Kingdom, Tushar worked as an Asset Manager for the Vice Chairman’s Office at DLF Limited, India’s largest real estate developer. His portfolio at DLF included DLF Cyber City, DLF Promenade, DLF Emporio, DLF Mulitlevel Car Parks, etc. with a total annual rental income of $350 million. Most recently, Tushar worked as Assistant General Manager at International Land Developers in Gurgaon, India. While there he managed a portfolio of real estate valued at $250 million, and helped raise $30 million in private equity from one of India’s largest real estate PE funds.
