2016 Cornell Real Estate Conference: Doug Hocking Principal KPF

screen-shot-2016-10-09-at-10-08-01-amDouglas Hocking serves as Principal of Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates (KPF), a global architecture firm based in New York City. He joined KPF after graduating from the College of Architecture, Art and Planning at Cornell University in 1990. In his 26 years at KPF, Hocking has worked on some of the firm’s most respected and well-known projects. He has a reputation for his attention to detail and pragmatism in design, resulting in award-winning projects built throughout the world. Douglas has led projects across the Unites States including several in New York City, such as 505 Fifth Avenue, a project prominently sited overlooking one of the city’s most treasured areas, Bryant Park. A success on many levels, the project was named the 2005 ‘Best Office Project’ by New York Construction News. Also in New York, Doug was involved in 27 Wooster Street in SoHo and 390 Madison Avenue.

Doug’s international work includes projects in China, Qatar, Korea and Japan. Douglas has been an adjunct professor and studio instructor for many schools, including the University of Hawaii and the University of North Carolina. He also serves on the Cornell University College of Architecture, Art and Planning Alumni Advisory Council, and is Chair of the College’s Careers Committee. Hocking was also Chair of the New Rochelle Planning Board for six years, and has served on the Westchester County Planning Board.
