On Thursday, November 19, the Baker Program cordially welcomes back to campus Sanjeev Misra to its Distinguished Speaker Series. Sanjeev is a graduate of the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration (SHA) in 1998, and he received a Master of Business Administration degree from Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan in 2003.
Sanjeev has successfully founded two companies within the hotel industry. Atira Hotels, 2005, is an owner, operator and developer of top-branded hotels in the US and has been ranked as a top hotel management company by trade publications. Atira owns and/or operates Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott, Wyndham and InterContinental Hotel Group branded hotels. Misra founded Paramount Lodging Advisors in 2007. Paramount is a national hotel brokerage and advisory firm specializing in the sales of hospitality assets, debt, and equity placement.
In addition to serving as a guest lecturer in real estate at the Anderson School of Business at UCLA, Sanjeev has returned to his roots at Cornell University in the SHA to provide industry representation for the Master of Management in Hospitality class project. His contributions to greater education in the industry involve published articles in Illinois Real Estate Journal, Hotel Management Magazine, and an exploration into 1031 Exchange Process for AAHOA Lodging Business. To go along with his extensive accolades, Sanjeev was chosen as GlobeStreet’s Top Fifty Under 40 in 2014. The Baker Program in Real Estate is ecstatic to have him provide his entrepreneurial flair and understanding.
