With a career in real estate beginning, as an 18 year-old night porter for Fred Trump, Mr. Guterman’s extensive perspective and understanding will undoubtedly further enhance the knowledge base of the student population.
Mr. Guterman’s business history covers multifamily residential, multi-tenant office, hotels, condominiums, and single-family residential. Guterman Partners has been responsible for planning, developing, and acquiring more than 18,000 units across 14 states, while additionally organizing, operating, providing strategic direction, and performance managing over 60,000 third-party owned luxury and market rate apartments in 10 states. Furthermore, Guterman Partners has been involved in the acquisition and planning of 31 different multi-tenant office buildings consisting of more than 3,250,000 square feet of net rentable area within 8 states. This square footage includes the largest single direct purchase of office properties and hotels (Patriot American Investors) in the history of the Resolution Trust Corporation. The office buildings within the portfolio became the foundation of the Mack-Cali Real Estate Investment Trust.
Moreover, Mr. Guterman’s strategic understanding of capital markets and finance has led to multiple international government appointments consisting of the following:
