The Cornell Baker Program in Real Estate is delighted to welcome Ben Bernstein, Co-Founder and Principal of RedSky Capital and RedSky Management, back to campus as our first Distinguished Speaker of 2017. After graduating from Cornell’s College of Arts & Sciences with a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Political Theory in 2006, Ben went on to co-found RedSky Capital with fellow Cornell alum Benjamin Stokes (CALS ’06). As President of RedSky Capital, Ben oversees all investments made by RedSky, and is responsible for the execution of investment strategy. Ben has led the acquisition, financing, repositioning, and leasing of over $200mm in real estate.
RedSky Capital acquires, develops, owns, and operates real estate throughout the New York Metro Area. Led by both Ben Bernstein and Ben Stokes, RedSky has grown to become a formidable force in their headquarters of Brooklyn, where many of their projects are located. RedSky targets long-term, multi-cycle projects, and largely utilizes a buy and hold strategy to create significant value over with time. Taking advantage of a unique opportunity to generate value, RedSky recently built the India Street Pier in New York in anticipation of development activity in the surrounding area. In addition, the company has been working on large assemblages in both Williamsburg and Downtown Brooklyn.
Ben Bernstein has graciously and generously contributed his time to Cornell University and currently sits on the Cornell Real Estate Council. We look forward to launching our 2017 series with a truly distinguished speaker.
