Cornell University’s Center for Real Estate and Finance is pleased to welcome Steven Roth of Vornado Realty Trust as a panelist. Mr. Roth will join Sandeep Mathrani of General Growth Properties and David Simon of Simon Property Group. The moderator will be Richard Baker (SHA ’88) of Hudson’s Bay Company. The panelists will examine how the retail landscape has vastly changed in recent years, discuss current trends, technology, and innovation within the industry.
Steven Roth is the founder and chairman of Vornado Realty Trust, the co-founder and managing general partner of Interstate Properties, and chairman and chief executive officer of Alexander’s. Vornado Realty owns two buildings — 1290 Avenue of the Americas in New York City and 555 California Street in San Francisco — in partnership with President Donald Trump. Vornado also owns a stake in Toys “R” Us and a slew of hotels and malls. In 2014 the company built the world’s largest LED advertising sign in Times Square. He is a trustee of Dartmouth College, where he earned his B.A., and a trustee of the Intrepid Museum Foundation. Mr. Roth has been in the news recently for his involvement with the Trump administration, to which he has advised on numerous topics.
