Cornell’s Baker Program in Real Estate is honored to welcome Meir Cohen, CEO of Cohen Equities, as the next featured guest in its Distinguished Speaker Series on September 7, 2017. Cohen Equities is an institutional quality real estate investment platform with an exceptional track record of opportunistic acquisitions. Under Mr. Cohen’s leadership, the firm has created significant value through active management, leasing, and strategic repositioning of commercial assets. Meir brings over 30 years of real estate investment experience, and since establishing Cohen Equities in 2011, has overseen investment of over 9 million square feet of real estate in more than 30 states.
Mr. Cohen moved to the United States in 1984, and with less than $5,000 in capital, began acquiring commercial properties. Over the next 5 years he would buy and sell over 40 buildings in Manhattan alone. As a Principal at C&K Partners he directed over $1B in transactions, including Pier 40 and 1710 Broadway in New York. Since founding Cohen Equities, his Manhattan based investment firm has grown to over 23 employees, two of which happen to be Baker graduates.
It is with great pleasure that the students and faculty welcome Mr. Cohen back to Cornell’s Ithaca campus.
